The State of Illinois has reinstated a mask mandate for all indoor public areas effective Monday, August 30th. This mandate requires that a mask be worn in all building public areas regardless of vaccination status. Beginning Monday, August 30th all persons in the building must wear a mask when entering the building and in common areas including but not limited to lobbies, restrooms and hallways.
For further information you can visit the State of Illinois website for updates related to mandates released by the Governor.
Feel Free to reach out to your management team with any questions. We thank you for your cooperation at this time.
Thank you,
Designed to empower owners and operators across large and small businesses alike to take the necessary steps in order to prioritize the health and safety of their staff, visitors and stakeholders, the WELL Health-Safety Rating was designed to guide users in preparing their spaces for re-entry into the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, instilling confidence in those who come through the building as well as the broader community.
The rating consists of operational interventions that can be made to help mitigate its spread across five key themes:
Cleaning and Sanitation
Emergency Preparedness Programs
Stakeholder engagement and Communication
Health Service Resources
Air and Water Quality Management
From handwashing support and cleaning practices to health services and air and water quality monitoring protocols, we are working hard to support the health and safety of everyone who walks through the door.
While the rating was created by a collection of nearly 600 experts across public health, medicine, design, real estate, government, and academia in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the targeted strategies are broad-reaching and apply to numerous health and safety issues.
Queen Bee Naming Contest
We can not have a nameless queen! So, for the next two weeks, we are holding a Queen Bee naming contest. The first seven days will be to scout out your best Bee names (August 15). The next seven days will be for voting for the most popular name for our resident Queen bee. (August 23)
Whoever has suggested the winning name for our queen will receive a complimentary lunch from the Café and a jar of honey from our very own hive!
In the event more than one person suggests the winning name, one name will be chosen at random to bee the winner!
What is a Queen Bee’s job?
The queen is the sole lady boss in charge of laying 2,000 eggs a day, while her entourage of female bees tends to her hydration, nutrition, and hygiene. The queen has the ability to choose what type of egg she lays, a female worker, a male drone bee, or a potential queen bee. In addition, her unique shape gives her the ability to drop an egg in the middle of a wax cell where it can develop safely in the care of the worker bees.
Be sure to share with everyone in your office! Each employee gets one submission. Time to put on your best bee pun thinking cap!

We are pleased to announce that repairs to the parking deck at One Oakbrook Terrace will begin on Thursday, August 12th with preparation and material delivery starting on Monday, August 9th. For the duration of the project, the drive lanes, parking restrictions, entrance and exits will be moving based on the area of work in each phase. Phase 1 of the repairs and how it will affect the traffic flow is indicated below. We ask that everyone please follow the signs as posted. Phase 1 is expected to last through late September. This 4-phase project is anticipated to be completed Mid-November. Regular updates will be sent as we approach the end of each phase.
Phase 1 will remove access to the up ramp, exit access from the upper deck and parking in the center of the upper and lower decks indicated in red. For the entirety of this phase: entrance will be off of both Butterfield through the fire lane and 22nd street, down the ramp and exit will ONLY be from the lower-level Butterfield side.
Should you have any questions of concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your Management Team. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we work to repair the parking deck.
We are proud to take part in the movement for a more eco-conscious city by installing a beehive near our pond! Starting TODAY we will be the host of our very own beehive! Our thousands of new colleagues will pollinate the urban flora that surrounds us during the summer. At the end of the season, we’ll harvest their honey and share it with you.
Urban Beekeeping is a great way to educate city dwellers to the crucial role of bees in food production.
Populations of bees, butterflies, bumblebees and other pollinators are in rapid decline all over the world.
Bees pollinate more than 130 varies of fruits and vegetables around the globe-that’s a third of our food supply.
What about stings?
Don’t fret! Bees really aren’t interested in human beings. They have one goal, and one goal only; to collect nectar and pollen from flowers within a 3 mile radius of their hive, and bring it back to ensure the colony’s development. Plus, bees die when they use their sting. It causes them to lose their stinger and a part of their abdomen – meaning they really have no interest in doing so, unless their colony is threatened. When visiting the hive, please keep your distance, stay calm and move slowly.
Take Flight with Alveole!
Our project is realized in collaboration with Alveole, a social beekeeping company. Since 2013, Alveole has partnered with hundreds of companies and schools on beekeeping projects. Each hive creates greater ecological awareness, allowing city dwellers to reconnect with nature and adjust their sense of responsibility towards the environment.
Feel free to follow along with our Beehive’s social media page! Our personal beekeeper Dana McMullin will be updating this page on how our hive is doing, how far the Bees are traveling and even when workshops are being held!

We are excited to announce that we are ready to move forward with the improvement of our building elevators. You may remember that we asked if you wanted your logo to be included on the new floor indicator of the renovated cab earlier this year. Since that time, materials have arrived and it’s time for this project to kick off. Mechanical and control enhancements for all elevators will be upgraded which will mainly occur behind the scenes. The benefit of the scheduled elevator upgrade will be faster, smoother and a more dependable ride to your office space.
There is an approximate timeline of 9 months, Mid-June through first quarter 2022.
The freight car will be the first to be taken out-of-service, this is the east most car can be accessed from the dock.
Once the work begins, deliveries will need to come in through the lobby and brought up by another car.
We will be providing regular updates on the progress as we move through this project.
